The traditional way of watering is to connect an oscillating sprinkler to the end of a hosepipe and leave it erratically throwing water about. After one hour the gardener must then reposition the sprinkler to cover the next area, leaving it for another hour, repeating the process until the garden is covered. This means your tap could be running for hours at a time. It is believed that it is necessary to water each area for an hour to ensure the ground receives enough water. |
This is simply not the case. Oscillating sprinklers deliver in excess of 180 gallons of water every hour. Much of this water is wasted either by these sprinklers unavoidably watering driveways, paths and other non-landscaped areas or, as 'run-off' because dry ground cannot cope with a prolonged deluge. |

Irrigation systems put the water where it is needed, accurate adjustable spray patterns ensure no water is wasted on patios, sheds, paths etc. |
System controllers allow your garden to be watered in short bursts with rest periods allowing the water to soak into the ground before more water is added. An automatic irrigation system will provide the same amount of useful water in a fraction of the time as traditional methods, with no waste whatsoever. |

No more dragging a hose pipe around the garden, or trying to lift a watering can up to awkward hanging baskets, instead sit back and enjoy your garden whilst your irrigation system does the hard work for you. |
